Are You Ready For The Return Of Missy Elliott?!
It’s been years since we’ve heard a Missy Elliott track and oh how we’ve missed her.
Missy dropped her sixth studio album in 2005 titled, “The Cookbook”, which went on to debut at the number two spot on the Billboard 200, selling 176,000 copies in the first week of release. The album, which spurned the monster hit ‘Lose Control’ went on to sell 645,000 copies, in the United States, eventually receiving a GOLD certification and a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Rap Album’. It failed to clinch the big award, however Missy did win a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video for ‘Lose Control’.
Since then, we’ve heard very little from Missy….we’ve seen a glimpse of her on T.I.& Tiny’s reality show, she heated up J.Cole’s, ‘Nobody’s Perfect’, she remixed Katy Perry’s ‘Last Friday Night’ and it was confirmed that she alongside her right hand producer Timberland, was cooking up her comeback album, ‘Block Party’.
This weekend, Missy is set to excite us all once more! The veteran rapper who made us bump n’ stuff in the 90′s is set to release not one but TWO tracks, “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat”.
