Alicia Keys, Dionne Warwick, & Kerry Washington Honoured At Black Girls Rock! [Photos]
Black is beautiful!
New York’s Paradise Theater was overflowing with black excellence last night [Oct 13] as the annual Black Girls Rock Awards show train pulled into town.
Back for another round of gut-busting entertainment was Tracee Ellis-Ross and Regina King who were the evening’s hostess with the mostest! The ladies kept the levels in the theater turnt all the way up, making sure the event was enjoyed by all!
Alicia Keys, Brandy, Ciara and Missy Elliot wowed with their electrifying performances while the legendary Dionne Warwick received the ”living legend honor, the girl on fire, Alicia Keys received the “rock star” award and our favourite “Scandal” mistress Kerry Washington received the “star power” award.
BLACK GIRLS ROCK! founded by Beverley Bond is non-profit youth empowerment and mentoring organization established to promote the arts for young women of color, as well as to encourage dialogue and analysis of the ways women of color are portrayed in the media.
The show will air on Sunday, November 4 at 8 p.m.!
