Hours after the untimely passing of his ex-wife Whitney Houston on February 11th, Bobby Brown shocked the world when he performed with his group New Edition instead of being by the side of his teenage daughter Bobbi Kristina.

During an interview with Ellen Degeneres airing today [May 16], Brown opened up about still performing even though critics slammed him and revealed he has no regrets.

“I was in Mississippi performing and I got the call. Of course, I tried to get a flight. Tried to rent a jet. Whatever I had to do but it was impossible,” he explained to Ellen DeGeneres on Ellen Wednesday. “So I knew the best thing that she would want me to do was perform. You know, we are performers. That’s what we did. That’s what we do and she would want the best for me.”

Bobby went on to say what he’ll miss most about the legendary singer.

“[I'll miss] her voice,” he told DeGeneres of what he’ll miss most about his ex, whom he was married to from 1992 to 2007. “I mean we get to hear it everyday but just to see her sing was amazing. Where she came from with it, was amazing. That’s what I’m going to miss…”
