Don’t Sleep On Azealia Banks!!

Still riding high off the sonic waves of her smashing Coachella performance last weekend, Azealia Banks followed up with some disappointing news. It was the news that she was delaying her ’1991′ EP. For what was the reason of this sad occurrence? It was just a simple offset to relay an even better announcement.

Yes, after encountering creative differences with her previous management, Banks moved to someone new. Troy Carter, the man who manages Lady GaGa, is now the man who Banks calls manager these days. Now that Banks is under the wing of the man partially responsible for the biggest pop star within the past five years, just how will the Harlem native career’s take form?

Of this new relationship, a bigger recording budget along with “no more ghetto mixes” is part of this deal. Now, with all the reviews last weekend what made Banks’ performance stand out was how unapologetically street she was. When u think of a manager who manages a huge star you think Banks will either go from to street to avenue or become a star for what she is rooted in. 

Troy Carter has a healthy track record within the industry. He worked for Bad Boy, Sean “Diddy” Combs and such… Just as long as the man has been within the urban market for some time we see nothing but a respectful growth for Banks and her music. Heck, for someone who makes street music Banks surely has a following of not-so-street folk. 

We’ll just have to stick with her and see what happens. For an artist with a mouth as sticky as Banks she just keeps coming with the knockout tracks.
