Gabby Douglas Named Sportswoman Of The Year! [Photos]
Last night [Oct 17] some of the greatest women in the sports world converged in New York City for the 32nd Annual Salute To Women In Sports Gala at Cipriani Wall Street and the biggest honor of the night was bestowed upon our Olympic champion, the flying squirrel!
Gabrielle Douglas stunned the world this summer past at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London where she clinched two golds; one as a part of the US women’s gymnastics team, and the other as the women’s gymnastics all-around champion and now she’s walked away with the coveted Sportswoman of the Year Award.
This girl on fire is in good company! Past winners of this prestigious sports award have included Venus and Serena Williams, Nastia Liukin, Jessica Mendoza and Jackie Joyner-Kersee.
