Gabby Douglas Responds To Critics: “What’s Wrong With My Hair?”…

Aug 06, 2012 2 Comments by

We’re still confused as to why people were focused on Gabby Douglas’ hair instead of the fact that she struck gold at the women’s Olympic individual all-around gymnastics finals and the fact that she lead her team to win gold.

Following her incredible win, the Associated Press caught up with the 16-year-old gold medalist and the new face of Kellog’s Corn Flakes and asked how she felt about all criticism in regards to her hair and not to our surprise, Douglas took it all in stride.

“I don’t know where this is coming from. What’s wrong with my hair? she said. “I’m like, `I just made history and people are focused on my hair?’ It can be bald or short, it doesn’t matter about (my) hair.”

Gabby went on to say, get use to it because she’s not changing up her hairdo for anyone.

“Nothing is going to change,” she added. “I’m going to wear my hair like this during beam and bar finals. You might as well just stop talking about it.”

That’s our girl. So mature and focused on what’s important; her talent. Oh, and just in case you didn’t know, Gabby is set to rake in $90 million in the next ten years! Pow!

I love seeing young ladies who are FOCUSED on what’s IMPORTANT, the goal to SUCCEED in life ! I admire this young lady so much, she is a true inspiration and I hope some of these little girls who are “running down” adult life take a page out of Gabby’s book.

    Thanks for sharing Vanessa :)
