Ghana’s President Atta Mills Dead At 68…

Just two days after celebrating his 68th birthday, the President of Ghana John Atta Mills has passed away.
While not too many details have been given, it’s being reported that Mills died at the 37 Military Hospital earlier today [July 24] hours after falling ill.

A statement was released by the late President’s office saying.
“It is with a heavy heart…that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana.”
Mills ruled the West African country since 2009. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time.
UPDATE: Vice President John Mahama takes over as interim leader and elections are set for December.
