Today is the day the Azealia Banks releases (digitally) her ’1991′ EP stateside. Listeners of Banks are pretty much familiar with the four song set, with the newest, “Van Vogue” (listen here) now available.
The EP is titled ’1991′ and sonically, all four of the songs sound like something out of the 90′s. Like the house tunes played in fashion shows of that time, Banks lays her provocative lyrics over the hip and funky productions of each song.
What a fantastic warm-up to her ‘Fantastic’ mixtape. Banks will further show off her creative independence by releasing her mixtape on July 4.
