MAG Fab: Katie Holmes Covers ELLE; Avoids Tom Cruise Questions…
A few days after announcing her divorce, Katie Holmes covers the August 2012 cover of ELLE magazine hitting newsstands on July 17th.
In the issue, the 33-year-old actress opens up about finally feeling secure with who she is, touches a tad bit on Tom Cruise, and spoke of a “new phase” in her life.
Photographer Carter Smith, who shot Katie’s spread dished on the photo shoot saying, “Katie didn’t speak about Tom in a lovey-dovey way at all. She deflected the Tom questions and brought them around to herself.”

On Tom Cruise: “He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years. I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”
On being handed things because of marriage to Tom: “Things are not handed to anyone. If anything, you work a little bit harder when you’re in such visible circumstances.”
On feeling more confident: “I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase.”
