Solange Knowles has grown into her own and we’re so loving it.
The face of Madewell, singer, dj and mom to son Daniel “Julez” Smith Jr, gives readers of the September issue of Elle magazine a taste of what life is like in her abode in the beautiful Carroll Gardens area of Brooklyn.
Solange hosted an intimate dinner party with her closest friends and invited the publication to join the festivities as they wined, dined, listened to music and snapped photos.
During her interview, the 26-year-old dishes on her decision to move to the hometown of her brother-in-law Jay-Z explaining that for the past six years older sister Beyonce had been trying to convince her to move to Brooklyn from California being that it allows her to spend more time with Bey who lives in the Tribeca area of Manhattan.

Solange also revealed that she continues to be hands on with her son whom she walks to school each and every day and her reasoning behind the decor she chose for her apartment.
“I had a moment when I looked at my closet and I was like, ‘Whoa, I really don’t have any basics,’” Knowles says. “And with my house, I wanted to find a balance of having great colors and patterns but also a really livable, warm, serene space.” So she chose neutral basics—a clean-lined blue sofa, all-white bedding, gallery-white walls—and accessorized them with Moroccan rugs (“We bought two when we were there because they’re gorgeous and super cheap!”)”
