MAJOR Exclusive: “I Don’t Think I Was A Secret!” – Emily B Dishes On Fab, Kimbella & Love & Hip Hop!

The season 2 premiere of VH1′s hit reality show Love & Hip Hop brought in the network’s highest ratings in 2 years with 2.566 million viewers and we’re not surprised.

In our two part interview, Emily Bustamante chats with SheSoMajor and wants the world to know that she is more than what you see Monday nights. She’s a mother, an entrepreneur and is ready to take the fashion world by storm.

Emily also dishes on her confrontation with Kimbella, realizing her self-worth, her relationship with rapper and the father of her youngest child Fabolous, the rumors surrounding Adrienne Bailon and Fab and much more.

Vanessa: Last season, we met you and a lot of people knew that you and Fab have a son together but didn’t know the extent of your relationship. How did it feel to know that you were a “secret”?

Emily B.: Umm, I don’t think I was a secret to the people that actually knew us.  I mean, people who knew him personally I wasn’t a secret to. I just don’t think he put it on blast to his fans but to people who actually knew us and to people that mattered I wasn’t a secret. I was always around, I was always there but you never knew who I was. I wasn’t on the carpet but I never felt like a secret. I knew where I stood in his life and he never disrespected me. I never felt jaded by that but I definitely felt like I wasn’t a part of his brand, which is understandable.

Vanessa: How did Fab react to you joining the cast of Love & Hip Hop?

Emily: Me and him actually shot a pilot for our own show together and VH1 at the time was putting together Love & Hip-Hop about the women behind the men in hip-hop and my story was intriguing because it was the same story on the pilot that we shot that I’m saying on Love & Hip Hop. I never thought it would be something he would be against because this is something that we had already discussed. So when I took it on I didn’t know it would be so much about Fab. I knew that of course I would have to talk about him because I was involved in him but I didn’t realize it would be so deep and again I’ve never talked about anything like that on national tv so it became like a therapy to me.

Vanessa: Which is good.

Emily: (Laughs) Yeah, it’s good and bad but it definitely became therapy for me.

Vanessa: During the first episode of season 2 of Love & Hip Hop, we met Kimbella as did you… Do you think the way she came out and said she “dated” Fab was at an appropriate time being that you were celebrating your freedom with your girls?

Emily: She said she didn’t know about me but we all have mutual friends so I never believed that she didn’t know about me. (laughs) Lets be clear, the millions of fans he has may not know about me but when you’re dating someone you know something about them. We all have girlfriends and when you decide to sleep with a guy, you investigate a little bit and if you don’t and you just open your legs to him then what were you to him. So that was my whole take on that…You didn’t know anything about him, you didn’t know where he lived, you didn’t know he lived with somebody. You know what I mean? She kept saying “I didn’t know about you” but why? You didn’t take the time to get to know him. You just made it easy.  And I blame him 100%.

Vanessa: I was just about to ask  you.. Do you put all the blame on her or is it like a 50/50 situation?

Emily: At this point she says she didn’t know about me, whatever.  I put the blame on him because he was…I put the blame on both of them. It’s the past and I’ve moved on from it. I’m over it! And at this point I’m not mad at her. It was a long time ago and like she said she was in a different place, she was single and she was doing her thing. I just felt the time that she told me was inappropriate.

Vanessa: Would you have still reacted to Kimbella the same way if she had told you about her and Fab’s relationship in a different manner.

Emily: She came on the show knowing that I was on the show (laughs) and she went into meetings knowing that she was going to tell me so she came on and had every intention on telling me on national t.v. I just felt like it was a little malicious. She could’ve pulled me to the side before filming and we could’ve discussed this. That was her goal and she accomplished it.

Vanessa: How do you feel about the way Chrissy gave Kimbella the beat down?

Emily: I don’t condone violence and I don’t like what happened because I would’ve handled it differently but there was a lot emotion in the room. If I could take it back, if we could rewind it I would’ve rather Kimbella pull me to the side and there would’ve never had been a problem. We could’ve moved on from it but since you decided to tell me on national t.v., I guess this is what happens.  I’ve moved on from it. I have no hard feelings towards Kimbella. I hope she gets whatever she tried to accomplish by coming on Love & Hip Hop and saying that to me.

Vanessa: You had a classic one liner on the third episode…“You are the most qualified. You’ve had the most black men in you including mine.” What made you finally express the way you felt?

Emily: When she originally told me that at the party I kinda blacked out. I was shocked. So after I had a few days to let it marinate I was upset. I’m like “Yo, she told me this while the cameras were rolling, in front of my friends…What was her intentions?” So when I saw her at the party it was built up so I just remember her telling me at the toast and my party so I’m like here I am at her party, there’s drinks around so let’s make a toast. It just came off the top of my head. I’m not tit for tat but it was spare of the moment and it was something that happened and oh well.. I’m not going to take it back. Everyone wanted me to choke her but I don’t have enough anger to do any physical harm. On tonight’s episode we do talk about it and she’s not too happy but I wasn’t too happy with what she said. (laughs)

Stay tuned for part 2!
