MAJOR Music: Whitney Houston & R.Kelly Duet – ‘I Look To You’
Grab your Kleenex!
It’s almost surreal that Whitney Houston is gone…and her latest track alongside R.Kelly just makes us miss her even more.
Although not new to us, the single written by R.Kelly, ‘I Look To You’ off of Whitney’s final album has been re-released…
According to Whitney’s mentor Clive Davis, the never before heard vocals were recorded by the great singer after she had undergone intensive dental surgery to remove nicotine from her throat. Whitney’s vocals were blended with R.Kelly’s who had performed the track at her funeral alongside a choir.
In an interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest Davis stated,

“She went into a studio by herself in Los Angeles and recorded two verses and a chorus of the song ‘I Look to You,’ which R. Kelly had written for her and for our album. I was just knocked out by it. To hear Whitney, as Whitney again, to hear her, the full flower of her voice it really showed the potential when she was ready to record again.”
Whitney’s vocals are simply flawless!
The inspirational duet is available on iTunes and will also be featured on Whitney Houston’s greatest hits album I Will Always Love You – The Best of Whitney Houston set for a November 1 release.
