Michael Phelps has cemented his place in history!

The world class swimmer struck gold today [July 31] in London as he jumped in the pool and helped to anchor the U.S. Men’s 4×200 relay team consisting of Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer and Ricky Bernes to victory.

Earlier in the day, Phelps settled for a silver medal in the 200m butterfly after being edged out of a gold medal  by South Africa’s Chad le Clos.

The gold & silver pushed Phelps medal count to 19, making him the most decorated Olympian in history. Phelps mantlepiece is now to be filled with 15 gold medals, 2 silver and 2 bronze.

Phelps has two more races the 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley, to swim before his Olympic career comes to an end in London.

We wish him nothing but the best!
