Miguel, Roscoe Dash & Meek Mill Beef Over ‘Lotus Flower Bomb’ Lyrics..
Yes, you read that headline right!
It’s quite hennish for them to be clogging up our timelines with their made-for-Twitter beef, but hey, that’s what Twitter is for right?
It all stems from Roscoe Dash’s comments this morning [Sept 20] about not receiving credit from Kanye West on the single, ‘To The World”, off of the Cruel Summer album.
The rapper tweeted,
“Everybody go get the G.O.O.D album and listen to #1 then watch @kanyewest interview … & tell me y I’m not on the credits.”
Roscoe followed up that tweet with another example of a song he helped to write, but didn’t receive credit, the song in question, ‘Lotus Flower Bomb’ by Wale feat Miguel.
“Same sh*t with @Wale lotus flower bomb. I wrote that for him b4 he even signed to Ross & it went #1…but nobody would kno that cuz I’m not in the credits.
Can’t do favors for n*ggas bcuz no matter how humble and generous u r to ppl n*ggas will take everything u have. Even n*ggas u look up to. The most talented ppl get the least credit for everything and the crazy part is they put in the MOST work. But EVERYTHING must eventually come to the light…I’m only speaking on this publicly bcuz there are so many ppl who wanna be apart of the industry but dnt kno half of the sh*t that goes on.”
It seems like Miguel caught wind of Roscoe’s Twitter thoughts and decided to address the matter to Complex saying,
“As far as I know, Wale and another artist that I recently met penned the original ‘Lotus Flower Bomb’ chorus and I came in and added the second half or the end part…I’m not going to explain myself, this is retarded.
I don’t know anything about Roscoe Dash. At the end of the day, I know my involvement in the song and as far as I know, Wale and I, and this other guy, wrote the chorus. The other guy was an alternative artist. If he wrote a part of it, he should get credit for it, but as far as I know, the people who deserve credit on the song are listed. Twitter is not the place to handle business. If he wanted to get that rectified, he would have his lawyer contact the proper people.”
Roscoe continued on Twitter after catching wind of Miguel’s tweets saying,
“After getting off the phone with
@wale I feel like I need to clarify I WROTE THE HOOK for “lotus flowerbomb” not his verses. However the record went #1 & I wasnt credited.#cornball shyt@miguelunlimited said.
