Multiple People Injured At Empire State Building Shooting…

Around 9:00 am this morning [Aug 24], a gunman opened fire at the front entrance of the Empire State Building on 34th street and 5th avenue in New York City.

Multiple people were wounded in the shootout. The number of people injured has risen to 10 with a possible 4 shot.

The victims have been transported to two local hospitals, St. Luke’s Hospital and Bellevue were they are being treated and the gunman has been pronounced dead after police returned fire.

Crime scene detectives, the FBI and the NYPD are currently on the scene.

UPDATE:

At least two people have been killed, including the gunman, Jeffrey Johnson, 53, who was laid off after 6 years from Hazan Imports and his former manager, 41, in the shooting and reports have surfaced that the tragic event started as a workplace dispute.
