47-year-old Rodney King was found dead this morning [June 17] at his home in California.
According to reports, the man who became famous after suffering abuse at the hands of the police, was found unresponsive at the bottom of a pool by his fiancé.
Police responded to the call made, but all attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Rodney King’s beating in 1991 sparked deadly riots and heightened racial wars in L.A. after the four police that attacked King were acquitted of all charges.
