Souljah Boy Defends Tears During Whitney Houston Tribute At BET Awards.

Last Sunday, [July 1] rapper Souljah Boy was caught on candid camera at the BET Awards in Los Angeles emotionally shook up during a tribute to the late great, Whitney Houston.

Souljah has been the butt of many a jokes, even at SheSoMajor, but the rapper is opening about what led to his public breakdown.

Speaking to XXL, Souljah stated,

“When I was standing there and they started to do the tribute, I started to think about Whitney Houston.  When her mother came onstage, I thought about how a mother was singing about her daughter that was no longer here. A daughter that had died.”

Also contributing to the moment was the fact that Soulah had just recently lost his little brother in a car crash,

“That’s really tough. Then I started thinking about my younger brother that recently passed. I got his name tatted on my arm. [His passing] feels like it happened yesterday. So those things are hard to watch.”
