The Bahamas’ Golden Boys Celebrate In London! [Photos]

All roads led to #10 Chesterfield Street yesterday [August 12] in London as Bahamians from near and far came to celebrate Team Bahamas and the Men’s 400×400 relay team at The Bahamas High Commission.

Since the kickoff of the 2012 London Olympic Games Bahama House has been every Bahamian’s home away from home and yesterday was no different; it was the last hoorah!

I ate about three times in the space of four hours, everything from fry fish to pork, peas n’ rice to coleslaw and a yummy concoction of veggies. The drinks were definitely flowing; there was an abundance of Kaliks, Sands, Bahama Mamas, Champagne and everything in between.

Watching our boys at the Olympic Stadium atop the podium with their gold medals while our National Anthem blared through the speakers was an emotional, memorable and a historic moment, that we will never forget.

We were THAT much more excited to await their arrival at Chesterfield….

As the night drew later…the crowd grew thicker….and then it was the moment…..our boys arrived in fine form rocking their uniforms as their GOLD medals dangled around their necks…to thunderous applause of course.

Kids clamored for autographs while adults scurried for pictures.  Definitely a PROUD and MAJOR moment!

We SALUTE our Team Bahamas and our GOLDEN BOYS for once more putting us on the map!
