If you’re on a diet, don’t read this…this post will incite an all out war within your soul, one that you will not win. One that will ultimately make you lose track of your plans to fit into your Summer 16′ swimsuit.
You have been warned.
I love homemade bread. There’s nothing quite like slicing a warm loaf and slathering it with lots of butter then stuffing it in your mouth. Then licking the buttery goodness off of your fingers…..Yum.
Recently, while attending the 12th Annual Bahamian Music & Heritage Festival in George Town, Exuma, I was able to witness bread baking at it’s best; from an old-school Bahamian rock oven!
Rock ovens can be found throughout The Bahamas, and were used when electricity in the islands were non-existent. They are still used from time to time to bake delicious goodness like the raisin bread I devoured in less than five seconds!
