Picking an airline to travel on internationally is a major deal for me. I’m not easily persuaded by low rates, [why is the rate so low?], I’m more persuaded by track record and reviews and inflight entertainment! Yes, I’m an old soul, I read reviews! I’ve flown most major carriers, but Virgin Atlantic has not been one of them. My flight to Europe, I was SO excited, to finally be able to experience Richard Branson’s baby. Unfortunately, my leg to Europe was a codeshare, operated by Delta. Whomp!
I love Delta, but it was a regular degular flight…fyi, a codeshare is where two or more airlines share a flight. I was disappointed, it’s like I waited my entire life to fly THE Virgin to London. Of course, this blog is called “A Major Experience With Virgin Atlantic’, so I must have been able to experience right? Right! My flight from Europe to Miami was operated by Virgin.
From the moment I boarded the flight, I was impressed. Wifi on an international flight, definitely caught my attention. The flight was not a full one, therefore the sit where you want, except first class plan was activated. There was free flowing booze, a three-course meal with the most delicious dessert. Plane food can be a hit or a miss, and some may say I’m over reaching but the spaghetti and meatball dish was the bomb. I must say I was also impressed with the fact that I got a menu. The attention to detail was everything.
The flight, even though a long one was constantly attended to by the gracious and always smiling flight attendants in the popping red outfits asking if I wanted a drank. Kinda made me wanna be a flight attendant..if only for a minute.
Alongside the inflight entertainment, service, food, and overall comfort level, I would definitely make Virgin a top choice when flying. Traveling is extremely stressful at times and whatever I can do to minimize that stress level, I’m here for it. If blowing away a customer with great service was their intention, they certainly achieved their goal.
