Would you book a trip on the Titanic II? Me? In the words frequently heard on the Shark Tank, ‘I’m out!’
We all know the story of the famed British liner the RMS Titanic that sank on its maiden voyage to New York City on April 15, 1912 after colliding with an iceberg. More than 1500 passengers died on the ill-fated journey. The unfortunate sinking of luxury steamship led to the production of one of the top-grossing movies of all time, Titanic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Hudson.
A few years ago, I heard about the possible building of the replica, but didn’t give it much thought because, who would want to sail on a ship named ‘Titanic”. Hey, it’s too close for comfort for me, but reports appear to be true. Australian company Blue Star Line have released plans to build a replica of the ship, which is set to sail in 2018 on a maiden voyage from Jiangsu in Eastern China to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Although the Titanic II is set to be a stunning replica of the original, there will be a few modern updates thankfully, more lifeboats!
