My faves have done it again! JetBlue Airlines has officially entered the Cuban market and will be the first U.S. commercial airline to fly to Cuba in more than five decades!
The low cost carrier is now offering direct flights from Ft. Lauderdale to three cities in Cuba — Santa Clara, Camagüey, and Holguín beginning August 30. Flights from Ft. Lauderdale to Santa Clara will be available Monday, Wednesday and Friday, then daily as of October 1. The Camagüey route will begin daily as of November 3, and the Holguín route daily as of November 10.
The best part about JetBlue’s new route is the introductory price of only $99 each way or $210 roundtrip inclusive of health insurance coverage and taxes.
To be honest, I’m not really up on my Cuban geography. I’ve never head of any of these cities but I’m more than excited to do some research and get a taste of Cuban living thanks to #JetBlue.
Vamonos!
