“Travel as much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can. Life’s not meant to be lived in one place.”
“YOLO”. I usually scream this before making an unwise or unhealthy decision. Yeah, it’s so, like, 4 years ago, but I’m a creature of habit. I recently resuscitated Drake’s famous line when listening to a friend’s broke woes after booking a magical birthday getaway. My advice to her was, ‘do it’, ‘what else are you doing with your money’. Sound advice right?
They say traveling is the only thing that you buy that makes you richer and while the saying is not entirely true, it does have some truth to it. You can buy real estate and it makes you richer or a Picasso, but, I digress. Traveling makes you culturally rich, it makes you rich in life experiences, it feeds your soul and for these reasons I would rather spend money on endless vacations.
When you look back at your life in 30 years, what will your memories be? Will it be sitting behind your desk 365 days of the year minus holidays and one week vacation? I’ll tell you what my memories will be. My memories will be drinking wine in Tuscany, cheering on the world’s most famous athletes at the Summer Olympics, sailing around the Mediterranean, driving up one of the world’s most dangerous volcanoes, swimming with sharks, and snapping a selfie with the Mona Lisa.
What’s the sense of making money if you can’t spend it!
