Update: It was good while it lasted but Biggity is now closed for business.
About two months ago, the cutest and most instagrammable boutique & bistro moved onto Bay St. in downtown Nassau and has now become my go-to for breakfast, lunch, and snack-time! Biggity, just like its name suggests, boldly bust up on the Bahamian scene and changed the game.
Located on Bay St. next to Pandora, Biggity is the sole reason my bank account is suffering. I have eaten breakfast and lunch far too many days since their opening that I would like to say. Their ever-changing weekly lunch menu ensures you don’t get sick of them like so many other places. My breakfast of choice usually is the wheat Johnny Cake topped with gubment cheese and a side of mini guava tarts. Hashtag yummy. For lunch, I have tried the fettuccine, broccoli soup, the signature dips, the meatball sliders and I could go on, but that would just give you an idea of how much money I spend there. Just take my word for it, it’s really good.
While people want good food they want an even better Instagram photo. Biggity was built solely with recycled materials like empty Grey Goose bottles repurposed into a chandelier, tin windows and tin tubs that pay homage to ole Nassau and Bahamian artwork scream hashtag me please. It’s like a Pinterest board come to life. #Biggity was exactly what was missing from downtown Nassau. A Bahamian cafe catering to the millennial way of life. I’m happy to say this made the list to my Top 10 Most Instagramable places in The Bahamas.
While the bistro is a new addition, Biggity the brand has been around for quite some time. They have been my go-to for hand poured soy candles for years! I was never a candle person, until one day I was at a festival and just bought one of their mini candles. Lifechanging. Absolutely. They come in an assortment of Bahamian-inspired scents like Sky Juice, Banana Bread, or Switcha, but my personal favourites are Guava Duff and Mangra. You can find these in addition to some bomb pepper sauce right at the boutique as well!
You won’t be disappointed and if you are, I don’t know what you want out of life. I mean, there’s great food and an even better atmosphere to match AND you get some dope social media shots!
