I write this post with a very heavy heart, right now, I am praying incessantly for my country, my family and friends. ?? The Bahamas has never seen anything like Hurricane Dorian, a category 5 hurricane. The images, video, and stories are shaking me to my core. There is utter and total devastation, and the storm is still sitting on one of our major islands Grand Bahama. It is painful to watch.
There are no words for how our country is feeling. We are hurting. For those who have reached out to find out how my family and I are doing, thank you. We are physically fine but we are emotionally shaken. Although our capital was not directly affected, we are all hurting witnessing our family and friends go through this storm.
To those of you who have reached out and to those who have donated to relief efforts. ?? Thank you. The road to rebuilding will be long and rough but we are a resilient people. For those of you who are asking how you can help, I have provided a few reputable resources that you can donate to.
Remember, you can donate cash, supplies, or even your time! Every bit helps! There are Bahamas consulates and offices around that world that are rallying together at this time, please contact them as well!
