Over the years I’ve shared so many of my favorite curly hair products on this blog as it has always been my goal to HELP women navigate their natural hair journey.
Recently, women around the world have been suffering from severe hair loss, inflamed itchy scalps, hair breakage and more and are attributing their problems to DevaCurl products. I have been doing some research and what is being reported is shocking, to say the least.
I have been an avid user and lover of DevaCurl’s products and this has not been my experience. This may be because I have not been using any new products but old stock. I don’t know, I don’t think anyone knows what is really going on and what is causing these problems.
I have been in denial because I have ranted and raved about this company because their products simply worked! Today, after posting a story about the drama, I had a friend reach out to me and what has happened to her hair is insane. It’s disheartening and scary what she went through and I am in shock!
I hope that this issue is being taken seriously by the company and they do everything in their power to rectify the issue that is being alleged.
Because some of our community have recently asked more questions about some of our products we have conducted additional testing at the manufacturer and warehouse level. In addition, we worked with an independent third-party toxicologist to verify the safety of these formulas. All these tests verified there are no safety issues with our products.
We don’t speculate on why some people are attributing the challenges with their curls to our products. As part of our ongoing commitment to product safety and the satisfaction of our Deva Community, we are conducting additional testing with an independent party.
