Australia has been burning for months and by the looks of things, it’s not slowing down any time soon. Australia is suffering from unrelenting wildfires that have been enveloping whole towns, so far, there have been 20 + deaths, thousands of homes destroyed and half a billion animals, yes billion with a B, lost! It is devastating to watch.
The fires began during Australia’s “fire season’ last year and have impacted just about every part of the country, but New South Wales has been hit the hardest. Major cities like Sydney and Melbourne have been blanketed in thick smoke which has affected the air quality.
The wildfires, which are not new to Australia, have been caused by dry lightning and arson but have been exacerbated by the record-breaking high temperatures and strong winds.
So what can we do to help?
