If anyone tells you, you’re too old for a good graphic tee (and some cut up jeans), cut them off, you don’t need that kind of negativity in your life! ??
One of my favourite things to purchase is a good graphic tee, they’re super versatile, most times inexpensive and you can get a ton of wear out of them. You can dress them down with a good pair of jeans and sneakers, jeans and heels, a cute skirt and sneakers or heels, throw on a blazer…you get my point, right?!
I made a beeline tward’ this cute Brooklyn graphic tee for obvious reasons, Brooklyn is the greatest borough in the state of New York (I schooled in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn College) and duh, I’m an 80’s baby! So naturally, I had to have it!
I paired the top with my favourite pair of boyfriend jeans and currently my favourite sneakers, Nike Huaraches!
Let’s talk about Nike for a moment. As someone in the PR & Communications world, Nike has always been a brand that has stood out to me because of its branding. They have built a strong brand that is recognizable and respected around the world. There’s no one who can’t identify that swoosh, no one! And I mean, come on, ‘Just Do It!? Name a more iconic slog, I’ll wait!
This week, the Nike brand did something that most brands in this era are afraid to do, they welcomed controversy through their front door like the G’s that they are. They stood by one of the most polarizing athletes in America and in doing so created a ishstorm! Nike showed us that brands can be empathetic, that brands don’t have to straddle the fence on important issues and most importantly Nike showed us that they are in tune with their core supporters.
Nike knows they have built a brand that can support the storm, they’ve got their umbrellas out! I am proud to rock my Nikes, and I am proud to support a brand that understands that some things are too important to remain silent on!
