Are you exactly where you thought you’d be in life? If your answer is no, I’m here to let you know that, it’s ok. In any given week, I grapple with the fact that I am still on my journey to where I want to be and I find solace in that. A lot of times we pressure ourselves to reach our goals but we fail to realize that the mission of getting to “it”, is the most important part.
I have learned that sometimes not being where I want to be in itself is a blessing. I have also learned that where I want to be, may not be where I need to be because it does not align with my overall purpose. This is something we have to be okay with because sometimes not every opportunity is meant for us.
I have set many goals for myself and I have not achieved a lot of them, but what I have enjoyed is learning about my strengths and weaknesses as an entrepreneur, and building those lasting connections. The journey is everything for me has always been better than the destination.
If you didn’t land the job, opened that business, received that grant, I’m here to tell you, it’s ok. You are still on your journey, and that’s the best part. Learn, network, do, speak life into your dreams, tell people about your dreams and never lose sight of your purpose and mission.
