Happy Friday!
I’m so excited about this super long weekend. Monday is a holiday and I intend to lay out and catch up on some thangs! We are officially into the last quarter of this year and it (as always) flew by! Where did the time go? So, what damage did I get into this week on the internet? Honestly, not much. I’ve been busy planning Christmas campaigns that I didn’t even buy anything this week, AND my favourite store has had major sales all week long! Welcome to adulthood. But, a few things did catch my eye, here are a few of my favourites.
EXPLORE AFRICA
It is always a dream come true to step foot on the continent of Africa and every year I’m blessed with the opportunity I’m beyond grateful. I’m super grateful because this year we’re heading somewhere new. In addition to Johannesburg and Cape Town, we’re hitting Namibia! *Insert Oprah gif* I’ve never been to the desert before so I’m bringing the thirst! If you’re interested in signing up, visit www.exploreafricatour.com we MIGHT have a few more spots left for our November 17th – 25th, experience.
GRAB THE POPCORN
The Hate You Give: A perfect film for the times, Amandla Stenberg stars in the adaptation of Angie Thomas’ novel of the same name about teenager Starr, who witnesses the fatal shooting of her best friend Khalil by a police officer. Starr must now navigate both of the worlds she exists in, the poor, mostly black neighbourhood where she lives and the rich, mostly white, prep school she attends. The film which also stars Issa Rae, Anthony Mackie, and Regina Hall is set to hit theatres on October 19th! A must watch.
A Star is Born: My friend Chet has been so obsessed about Lady Gaga and Bradly Cooper’s latest film, ‘A Star is Born’, that I couldn’t help but check it out to see what all the fuss was about. The film is Gaga’s first leading role in a major motion picture and there is already whispers about award season. A Star is Born is a love story between Jackson (Bradley), a musician who discovers and falls head over heels in love with Gaga (Ally) and encourages her to follow her dream of being an artist. I watched the trailer and I’m pretty surprised by Gaga’s acting, she seems like she’s been doing this her entire life and can I say, I’m in love with the duo’s single, ‘Shallow’. If you have some time, check it out, I will!
S Is For SALE
J.Crew: The current amount of shopping bag is $126.30 and I’m currently in limbo trying to figure out what to take out of my cart! If you don’t know, J.Crew, is my absolute fav store. I’m not a “trendy” girl, I would say I’m 3C, ‘classic’, ‘clean’ and ‘chic’, qualities I find in the brand. Let’s not forget, the pieces are top quality, something that is super important to me. I crave quality over quantity! Currently, there’s a 40% sale, the best time to shop for pieces I’ve been eyeing for quite some time. I find myself buying a ton of basics and I recently found quite a gem, this Strech Tank Bodysuit! I stockpile tanks and tops because of their versatility, dress em up or down! I bought this in black and it fit like a glove! I also have a white sitting in my bag right now. Get you one asap!
Enjoy your weekend!
