Fresh-like, could there have been a more perfect title for Insecure’s 4th episode. Like its name suggests, we get to see a lot of fresh starts for Issa. The episode kicks off with Issa moving into her new apartment, you know the one where she also doubles as the apartment manager. We get a glimpse of a salty Daniel helping to move her in, but that’s pretty much as much as we get to see of him. Issa looks happy, she’s flourishing, not only with a new apartment but also she might have a new boo!
Lyft-bae, cute light-skinned green-eyed thang makes another appearance, and it looks like him and Issa might be a thing. Issa spent most of the episode showing him around LA, her hood and even calls in sick to skinny dip in her childhood home’s pool. I love the chemistry between the two, but I’m still not sold on Lyft bae. I’m definitely not a fan of Issa inviting him back to her new apartment. While the two could be good for each other, I just think Issa needs to work on her ish first before bringing someone new to the mix. I’m just saying, you were just living in Daniel’s apartment yesterday.
The most shocking and surprising act came in the last few minutes of the show. Issa found the guts to quit her job at We Gat Yall. I knew it would happen, but I just didn’t think it would come so soon. I know Issa was frustrated with her dead-end job especially after being put on desk duty, but I’m unsure of what her plan is. Yes, she’s driving Lyft, she has the new apartment management job, but is that stable enough to quit? This is the rational side of me speaking, I’m 100 per cent behind her! There’s nothing worse than waking up and existing at a job you hate. I just hope she doesn’t dig a hole for herself after getting out of one!
Now that Issa’s gotten her life on track, let’s discuss our second favourite character, Molly. This season is making Molly look extremely unhinged. She’s extremely dissatisfied with her new job, she’s trying to reach out and make new office friends, but she needs to work on her insecurities. Molly is so used to being the only black person in the room, the “shining star”, that she doesn’t know how to blend in. She always feels as if there is a competition, there’s a chip on her shoulder. I just don’t see this job working out for her, at all! I’m interested to see how this all plays out for her, but until then, let’s just hop into this week’s ‘How I Watched’.

Moved out of salty Daniel’s and next day Lyft bae is in…. I’ve noticed in the last few months, being a spectator in a coworkers breakup and another’s divorce, this is an American thing to do. They dont let themselves breath, I even feel like they are unable to be alone..
That’s why there are so many unstable humans in unstable relationships because they don’t let themselves get over emotional trauma! Take a breather for God sake!
