What To Wear In Fall {Island Girl Approved}

Living in The Bahamas, there’s barely a change of seasons. While the nights in the islands can cool down a bit, there is one season that is always constant, summer! So how do you dress and appreciate Autumn, when there’s barely a change in temperature? Good question! You play with colors, accessories, patterns, prints, cuts, and light cozy pieces and pray that your body doesn’t overheat! 🙂 Thankfully, I am able to travel quite a bit and therefore I get to occasionally join in on the seasonal fun and enjoy the cooler weather.

Here are some of my favorite fall essentials.

BLAZERS 

Blazers are closet essentials and are a great way to jazz up any outfit or take from day to evening. I have an endless supply of fitted to oversized blazers in my closet that can be worn from season to season. You can wear a blazer to work, brunch dates, dinners or casual outings with heels, sandals or sneakers. Like I said, super versatile and classic.

LOAFERS

Trading in sandals and flip flops is never easy, but a welcomed change in the cooler months. Just think of all the money you’ll save by not having to keep up with your weekly pedicure! I love super chic loafers and I try to invest in a quality pair or two that will last for quite a few seasons. Loafers are comfortable and can be worn just about anywhere, any time of day.

 LEOPARD

Leopard print is always a good time, but leopard always makes a big splash in the Fall. I usually shutter my pieces for the summer in lieu of floral, big, bright and bold colors and have them make their triumphant entry back into heavy rotation in the fall. You can start small with accessories like belts, then move the trend along to tops, skirts, and dresses. Have fun and go wild!

SCARF

With Fall comes a little chill in the air, grab a scarf, wrap, and hit the town. Scarfs are great for Fall especially since the weather can be a bit unpredictable. You may not want to load yourself down with a coat just yet, therefore a large enough scarf to wrap around your shoulders or neck should do the trick to keep you cozy.
